Drawn from the Territory!

I have recently had lovely time with collage, watercolours and pencil among other media working up larger more complete drawings from the quick sketches done in the Northern Territory. This drawing is of Ubirr Rock escarpment, looking towards it from the road as you drive into the site. Some of the most amazing rock art … Continue reading

Watercolour win for Carmen!

'Mapping the Colours'-watercolour

‘Mapping the Colours’-watercolour

Carmen entered the above painting into The Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA) for 2016.  This is an annual visual arts prize and exhibition for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote Queensland. In Flying Arts’ 45th year, the QRAA theme was ‘Colours of Queensland’. Artists were asked to consider what brings colour, vibrancy and life to their local community or region, drawing on personal experiences and observations.

After celebrating a major birthday, Carmen was delighted to hear that her painting ‘Mapping the Colours’ was awarded The Annie Tan Memorial Watercolour Award and will be on tour throughout Queensland from Nov 2016 to Jan 2018.
