Carmen and I had our ‘Artist Conversation’ at our Visual Fragments exhibition at the Rockhampton Art Gallery last Saturday (3 February 2018) and were delighted to see so many visitors who came along.
It was a very wet day in Rockhampton, but even that didn’t stop our keen audience from attending. We were pleased with the questions asked and felt that we were able to provide the audience with a fuller understanding of what we were trying to achieve. Questions touched on our art practice and influences, awards and exhibitions that were important steps in our careers as well as threads that weave through our work, among other things.
We have had some great feedback about the exhibition and thank everyone who attended.
Carmen has now moved onto the ‘Collection Intervention’ Exhibition, that is opening this Saturday 10th February. See the link here: http://www.rockhamptonartgallery.com.au/Programs/Collection-Intervention-Exhibition-Opening
‘Collection Intervention’ is the Rockhampton Art Gallery’s nationally significant collection seen through the eyes of six contemporary artists practising in Central Queensland. Carmen has been selected as one of the six contemporary artists and has curated the first part of this exhibition. Hear Carmen speak on her works through the context of the Rockhampton Art Gallery Collection in this informal conversation-style event on Saturday 24th February.
