Central Queensland Contemporary Artists, long time residents of The Walter Reid Cultural Centre in Rockhampton have just been relocated from their room of 30 years on the top floor into a smaller. but well appointed space on the second level of the building.
Huge ceilings and great light on the top floor!
Space for lots of workshops.
It was a mammoth task to clear out all our years of accumulation. Probably a good move as we are now happily settled into a tidier, cleaner area and planning several projects for coming year.
See how vast our previous space was and the amount of stuff we accumulated, much as we do at home.
Next will be pics of the new space.
A Slow start to our blogging year, but good news for 2014 with an exhibition in our future. Carmen and I have booked an exhibition space at Percolator Gallery, Paddington for November this year. This all means we need to get working.
I am still progressing with collages and lino prints around my recurring theme of growth, flowering and decay, ie still on the Spear lily. Since it has finished flowering, now I am looking at the extremely large dead and decaying flower stalk. Also experimenting with prints in collage.
