Good showing at Conclurry Art Awards

I have received  exciting news from Conclurry, where I had a painting in the prestigious Ernest Henry Memorial Art Contest. My painting ‘Gidgee Scrub’ (below) won second prize in the Open Section, which was a very nice $1500.   The Ernest Henry Memorial Art Contest has been running in Conclurry for 43 years and draws art work from artists all over Queensland and interstate. This painting was hung in our recent exhibition ‘Different Horizons’ recently held in Rockhampton, and was much admired. A win of any size is always a boost, especially when you start to think why bother sending paintings to competitions only to have them return a month later with not a word to how they were received. It can be a lot of trouble to organize them to go off to places far and wide.  This will keep my interest in competitions going.
